HireStepX exists because the gap between a great resume and a great interview is unforgiving, and the people teaching interview prep mostly aren't the ones still doing them. We're building the coach we wanted when we were the candidate.
India produces 1.5 million engineering graduates a year. A third can't land a first interview that goes past round one. The reason is rarely talent. It's that interview prep, the way it's taught, was designed for a labor market that doesn't exist anymore: coaching that costs ₹10,000 a session, friends who can only roleplay so many times, and YouTube videos from 2018 about a hiring funnel that's already changed twice.
We've been on both sides of the table. Hiring at unicorns, coaching at colleges, taking the rounds ourselves. The pattern was always the same: the people who got better got reps: specific, scored, immediate. Not generic advice.
